I get my mail from the USA usually once every ten days or so. Some things I just get on line, which is OK, although I refuse to live inside a computer, and sometimes miss things sent to me.
But one thing I can't stand is this steady stream of requests for money disguised as "surveys," looking for my opinion (NOT) on foregone conclusions.
"Do you support peace, apple pie and motherhood? Choices: 1. yes, 2. of course 3. Are you nuts, whaddaya think? Now that you stand with us, are you ready to make a contribution? Make it through Act True, which will only skim off 25% for itself! Do you support Alexander Throttlebottom for Vice President? Great, contribute even more. Act True is waiting to process more of your money!"
"Do you agree that our government needs to support human rights and discourage pollution? Should we do 1. more about it? 2. a LOT more about it? 3. TONS more about it? Thanks for your input. Now contribute more than you can afford through our convenient Act True site. You'll feel great afterward!"
I get them from the radical right, too.
"Aren't you excited and glad about how great America is becoming again? We want to know how much! Do you think that Trump is doing 1.) A great job? 2.) A magnificent job? 3.) An other-worldly celestial job? 4.) Should he take a well-deserved permanent break and turn over the reins to Newt Gingrich? Show your support and contribute all your liquid assets and your first-born to Republican GreedPAC, P.O. Box 666, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands."
If these people are looking for money, then say, "hey, could you send us some money?" and then say why. Don't take us for idiots and send some simple "survey" where the answers are a foregone conclusion, and the questions an insult to our intelligence, and then hang a "do you stand with me/us/our cause?" request for money on the end.
I toss all these things in the trash except for a few of the ones from Republicans. I cross all the answers they don't want to hear, and the tell them what trash they are in the comments section, and even then, only if they send an envelope where they pay the postage. They say, "your first class stamp will help us save on our expenses." Sorry, Charlie, I WANT to run up your expenses. The Postal Service needs the money, and you don't. These get sent back to my office in a package, and are mailed, postage unpaid, from my office there.
