I was 17 and there for the fireworks with my family and some friends. When a crowd of hippies near where we were sitting on the mall started acting up, police were almost instantly on them with teargas. Which meant everyone around them, including us, got teargassed too.

50 years ago... gawd. I'm still pissed about it.
