They appear to be nothing more than a propaganda outlet for the Right-Wing and whatever goes along with that, (oligarchs, theocrats, etc.)

Since you would think that numbers and ratings would be an issue for most news outlets, (bottom-line, profit rules) putting their viewers at risk doesn't really make any sense, unless the motivation is another agenda.

I am not going to speculate too much about this, but my sense of what going on may be about inflicting enough harm on our nation and people and dividing us in order to take advantage of the chaos and confusion in the long-run. There are plenty of propaganda outlets for the fundamentalist Right-Wing agenda and taken as a whole, they are performing a function of tearing apart the fabric of our society.

Believe it or not, there is a lot of money to be made in this process even though it seems to be counter intuitive and deplorable. In that case, exploitation is easier and there's the pennies on the dollar bargain basement for the wealthy to shop in and gush more up from the "economy". That helps to motivate it.

Just a speculative overview based on my personal observations, nothing more.

Anyone who claims to have all the answers about what is happening is either deluded or lying. But what is happened is too similar to what Naomi Klein wrote about in the shock doctrine. There’s so much damage happening, so much chaos, and so many fronts that it is impossible to get our bearings. You have to suspend disbelief to understand what could possibly be motivating people in charge of these decisions
