"SNIP.....
The Trump campaign will be providing face masks and hand sanitizer for all attendees at an upcoming rally Saturday in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
The campaign said in an email on Sunday that attendees are "strongly encouraged" to wear the masks.
Why it matters: The campaign's first coronavirus-era rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was notable for its lack of masks.

I really dont understand trumpublicans stance on wearing masks. Theyre scared of imaginary terrorists, criminals, and tyrannical governments and need to open cary assault rifles everywhere so they can feel safe, but the very real threat of the pandemic around them they ignore.

(37,748 posts)Idiot trump is hemorrhaging voters and support. My guess is an aide (or a few aides) is doing this, and doing this without Idiot trump's knowledge so his campaign staff can point to at least one concrete form of mitigation they took as the campaign season starts this fall.
Idiot trump is a guy who will dig in so deep, he gets buried in his own denials. He'd refuse any staff member doing this if he knew about it. Masks are now a physical symbol of both his personal failure and failed presidency-- I just can't see Idiot trump allowing his rallies to acknowledge his dismal breakdown in response to the virus by encouraging wearing them.
I'm guessing by Tuesday he tweets something implicitly distancing him from this decision and if the response he reads is positive, he'll go so far as to encourage his rallies not to wear them... but still provide them for campaign cover.

(19,986 posts)She berates a "stupid" Sky News reporter for wearing a mask, saying that wearing masks is a "false narrative" and by wearing a mask you are furthering the agenda of the "deep state" and keeping everybody in a state of terror.
