Oh my, there are now waiting lists for ICU beds across Florida...

...and that list is only going to grow longer by the hour.

The far-right wanker that runs Florida, as one of Trumps chief enablers, knew this was going to happen, but ignored it anyway, cause bluster, bollocks, elections and Jesus.

They saw what happened in Italy, they knew how horrendous it could get, the fuckers.

They saw what happened in New York and chose not to listen to a blue state when they warned about opening up too early. They saw the devastation and decided that irrespective of reality, Covid-19 reaching their beaches was not as important as freedumb.

And now those old Floridians who have retired there in their droves, driving their golf carts and wearing their MAGA hats are going to die horrible deaths, because if you are over 60 my guess is you are much more likely to die at this point if you need hospitalisation – after all they will not be getting an ICU bed - cause triage – and lets face it, if you are old and retired how useful will you be to the freak show that is the right wing in the economic resurgence of the state? They are that nazi.

They knew this would happen and they did it all anyway. Grim fucking reapers.

wave of 4th of July with NO room for the thousands and thousands of ill that will need hospitalization. Does DeSantis have a GOP death panel set up to decide?

same in Texas and Arizona.

Florida’s public schools must open their campuses in August and operate five days a week, giving all students the option of a traditional school calendar, the state’s education commissioner said in an executive order signed Monday.
+++
Florida’s new order was issued the same day President Donald Trump tweeted, “SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!!” and also that Democrats “don’t want to open schools in the Fall for political reasons, not for health reasons!”

From: https://www.sun-sentinel.com/

Republicans are liars. They claim they want to reopen schools because kids learn better with in-person instruction but I would submit their real motive is to get more parents back to work on their regular jobs.

If they open all schools this quickly, they're likely to lose a large percentage of their teachers and staff to this disease along with damage to the long-term health of thousands of kids.

But they will not be safe and I feel so very sorry for the democrats in the Villages, after all they need not vote for the people who are going to triage them onto death.

They are raking in the money as people die. I believe they think they are culling the herd, eliminating moochers who will have big health bills at some point. So there is that. Then the funeral services businesses must be booming. Life insurance not so much but it does put beneficiaries in the black so they can spend to help the economy.

And there is this idea ....... I don't even know the answer to this. Are key employees insured? They get a benefits package, which includes life insurance. Often they can double or triple it for a few bucks a month. But somewhere in the '90s I read that companies can carry separate life insurance on employees where the company is the beneficiary. So if a key employee dies, they get paid, to offset the cost of hiring a replacement and to plug the revenue fall. I seem to remember some example of carrying enough insurance so that the unexpected death of an employee could pay the company more than enough to compensate for all the salaries and wages the employee was ever paid. A million bucks on a 20 year $50k employee in other words. These don't have to be high level people. Producing sales agents are important enough. So if this is the case, businesses get an additional payday on the death of an employee.

I have a 92 year old aunt, and 2 60 year old cousins who live in Florida. They do not deserve what will happen if they get infected. They are staunch Democrats who are observing CDC guidelines, but with the infection rate there, who knows.
