Trump Threatens to Cut School Funding If Not Open
July 8, 2020 at 9:48 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

President Trump threatened to cut off funding to schools if they do not open in the fall.

Said Trump: “In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS. The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is important for the children & families. May cut off funding if not open!”

Congress passed the spending bills, Trump signed them into law, and Trump can't just change that law on a spoiled brat whim. At least, that's what the Supreme Court will rule sometime around 2022 after the issue winds its way through the courts, is initially dismissed because the plaintiffs don't have standing to sue the administration, then reinstated by an appellate court, then adjudicated by the district court, appealed by the losing side to the circuit court of appeals, then appealed to the Supreme Court which will avoid ruling for some obscure issue that needs a ruling and is sent back to the district court, which the district court will address, the circuit court will rule on one way or the other, then buck it up to the Supremes, who will finally rule that Trump overstepped his authority, two or three years after the damage is done.

... here in Denmark the schools did open, but only because the epidemic here is contained so much better than in the US. We do not use masks, but has a big focus on social distancing and constant cleaning in the schools. The pupils are spaced out with distance in-between, and more psychical activities like gym and singing is outdoor.

BTW Denmark and the three other neighbour countries to Sweden has big restriction for visits across that border, since Sweden's epidemic is still running so bad.
