Today there were two major 7-2 Supreme Court decisions

In one they let employers opt out of birth control coverage, and in the other they said that discrimination laws don't apply to teachers in religious schools.

In both cases, the conservative Justices were joined in the majority by Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan. Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissented in both.

I love Breyer and Kagan, but two in one day is a little surprising. Does anyone know why they dissented? The cases seemed pretty clear cut.
