Donald Trump isn't interested in protecting Americans. He's interested in getting re-elected.

And he's willing to put America's schoolchildren at risk for his own glory.

On Tuesday, he held one of his sycophantic Blights of the Round Table meetings, where he requires a cadre of staffers to gushingly glorify his existence at length.

Then he discussed the pandemic and how those mean teachers won't go back to work.

Incredibly, Trump demanded that governors reopen all schools in the fall with no consideration as to how the country will be handling COVID-19.

Almost all funding comes from local and state sources; federal funding is only about 8% - and Congress, not the executive branch, controls federal money.

3. Schools are funded almost entirely by local property taxes.

His Lardship has no control over what individual school districts decide to do. Even state governors have less control than local school districts. Unfortunately, though, he might influence some of the dumber Trumpists on school boards to do what he wants.

7. Here's A Perfect Example Where Trump Has Two Choices/Decisions - And He Makes The Wrong Choice.....

If he wants the schools to be re-opened - he shouldn't be threatening them by cutting off funds if they don't do what he wants.

Instead, if he really wants the schools to re-open and he wants them to cooperate and do it safely - the choice he should have made is providing sufficient funding for them to do it the right way.

So this re-opening is a decision that will fail - just like all the rest of his decisions with respect to Covid.

Trump is a person that just doesn't learn anything and he keeps making the same mistakes over and over again.

What's the old saying of insanity? 'doing the same thing and expecting different results.'

9. I was listening to a CNN interview this morning.

The interviewed was a former Obama education official
I didn't catch his name but he said the education officials are completely ignoring Trump because he has nothing to add. They are trying to figure out a way to open schools but it's really complicated. You have to protect the kids and their families and the teachers.
It's a huge deal.

He was just titally disgusted with Trump and his terrible ideas.
