Here Barr acknowledges the mistake she made in her original list by not including the works of black female scholars who have detailed the battle black female Christians have waged against patriarchy

Even if you have zero desire to read any book on the topic, reading Barr's brief descritions of the books' contents is quite informative and enlightening!

I urge those concerned about the disasterous effect that patriarchy in christianity has had on women---read the brief descriptions. Major battles have been waged against patriarchy in christianity---but the history has been blotted out!

She got her PhD in medieval history at U of NC at Chapel Hill in 2004

Her specialty is women and religion in medieval and early modern England
