Dave Ramsey to host business conference in TN as covid cases spike

https://www.nashvillescene.com/news/pith-in-the-wind/article/21139509/dave-ramsey-to-host-business-conference-in-franklin-as-covid19-cases-rise

"Earlier this month, the management of a Marriott hotel in Orlando made a decision that wouldn’t come as a surprise to many. With COVID-19 cases in Florida and around the country rising again, the hotel decided against hosting the EntreLeadership Summit, or at least declined to do so on terms preferred by the conference's organizers — Ramsey Solutions, led by the Christian financial personality Dave Ramsey.
......

In a July 2 email to the staff of Ramsey Solutions obtained by the Scene, executive vice president and company board member Daniel Tardy writes: “Today we were told by our host hotel, Marriott, that they have chosen to stop partnering with us and being solution oriented on delivering a great guest experience because of their myopic take on COVID stuff. I’ll spare you the details but trust me when I say they are being immature, transactional and irrational.”

In response, Ramsey Solutions will host the conference at the company’s headquarters in Franklin, preparing to potentially bring thousands of people to Middle Tennessee, where COVID-19 cases are spiking. Williamson County specifically has also been recording record-high numbers of new cases.
.....

The conference is set for July 12-15, and while the site does offer an option to attend via livestream, there is no other information about any precautions being taken to prevent the spread of the virus. A communications staffer at the company took a phone call from the Scene on Tuesday, saying a spokesperson would get back with information about the conference and how attendees and the community will be safeguarded. They have not done so, nor have they responded to an email with questions about the conference.
.....
In March, Ramsey kept his company’s offices open after an employee tested positive for the virus, even though large gatherings were being discouraged by public health officials at the time. Staffers and people with loved ones at the company say the company has continued to hold large in-person staff meetings in recent months and is ignoring guidance, and even mandates, about masks. "....(more)

It's not as crazy as it sounds, three agents committed suicide in AZ over an 18 months and financial discipline was a factor in all 3 cases.

They used a secular version w/o the religious nonsense.

Having said that they could have arranged a better course through the community colleges.

First there are 1000 agents in the area.

While They don't disclose details of the cases they came out with the series referring to the problem.

One of the problems is moving a couple from Los Angeles to a remote place with going from 2 incomes to a single income.

The stations are frequently an hour commute from middle class neighborhoods that spouses want with good housing education etc. These areas are so desolate and hot (we will get 117 this week) that many families take frequent trips to San Diego. Also buy off road toys etc.

Result is they can quickly add significant debt, with a high mortgage and credit card balances. Now it can get serious because internal affairs monitors Agents credit rating and will terminate someone with bad credit (because they could become a target for corruption).

So if your spouse gets tired of living in Douglas (had one client who didn't move to Douglas because they didn't have medical clinic capable of handling their son's medical needs - he drove to El Paso once a month) and moves home with the kids leaving the father with debt, child support, big empty house and knowing that he could lose his job, it can be daunting.

So some fiscal training is a good idea especially for guys whose families were farm workers and never had large disposable incomes. The BP is to be commended for trying but I disagree with Ramsey and not just on the religious nonsense.
