Possible NY State charges against Trump when he leaves office.

Tax fraud, bank fraud, insurance fraud. Cohen showed us the checks Trump signed. Cohen also testified about possible bank fraud and insurance fraud. Barr can't interfere with state charges.

Trumps accountant, who you never hear from was given immunity by federal prosecutors, not state prosecutors. What did he say to federal prosecutors? I believed he testified before a grand jury.

I don't know what went down with the federal prosecutors at SDNY. Barr may have been successful shutting trump investigations down. I imagine when Biden wins, installs a new AG, new prosecutors, SDNY could reopen cases.

Aside from the question of whether you can charge a sitting president with a crime, which is a DOJ policy and not a law or constitutional prohibition, there is no constraint on a state making charges, there is also a question of the statute of limitations for such crimes. If they wait, will the statute of limitations run out for those crimes?
