We seem to be letting Trump and the Republicans get away with a double reverse on reopening.
Trump and his Republicans pushed for reopening too soon. They browbeat and ignored medical experts. They gaslighted and manipulated the people. It is failing miserably. But they keep pushing anyway. It makes them look like they are being stern and bold. They are "cracking the whip" and being "leaders." They are "rushing to the aid of the economy."
That's utter bull, and we can't let them get away with it. What Trump and his Republicans are doing is just delaying the return of the economy. They are substituting their DIY, arrogant numbskull "winging it" for a clear, well known, and easy-to-follow plan by medical experts. Lives would have been saved if Trump and his Republicans were anywhere but in charge, and our economy would now be much farther along toward reopening. All we needed was true leadership, but Trump and his Republicans arrogantly jumped in the way of people who actually know what they are doing.
