have the argument in the courtroom, not with the cops. Cops don't want to get into an altercation either.

If you don't like what they did, complain to the judge. It has worked before.

Cops now don't want the confrontation of dealing with people not wearing masks. But it's hard to blame them, when it's clear someone is going to cause a to-do about it. City ordinance in Rehoboth Beach in Delaware (and I'm sure many cities/towns) says you have to wear one, cops there won't do anything about people not wearing them, and that's complained of too.
