If Joe Biden wins the election, one thing I'm looking forward to:

Forgetting that he is President.

You probably already know what I mean. But basically, I can't go a single day without being reminded that Donald Trump is President. Not a single day without hearing about his latest lie, his latest whining tweet, the Greco-Roman wrestling match with the English language, the sleaze, the reactionary, ham-fisted approach to being President, his litter of spoiled, diseased, puffed-up adult-baby-children, the blissfully vapid Barbie Doll of a wife, the whole ball of wax.

Even when Barack Obama, whom I admire immensely, was President, there were days when I could forget he was President, and just enjoy life in what seemed to be a shining new era.

I want that with President Biden.

Please God, let him win the election; and let us do everything in our power to make it happen...

I was confident that stuff would just get done, even if I might not agree 100% all the time with everything the government or the president did, but the wheels would turn and the processes would work and I didn't have to wonder what heinous fuckery had occurred since the last time I checked the news.

I was able to just focus on my daily life with President Obama in office. With Trump it feels like when I know that I have diarrhea, I always check to see where the restrooms are and hope no one stops me for hallway meetings, there is just an air of uncertainty and dread that hangs over me.

...and then I'd go on with my daily business.

Now I read some disturbing news article and prepare for the shit storm.

This pandemic has been a major shit storm in my family of health care workers, service workers, and teachers.

The young adults in my family are especially hard hit.

When my wife, who is a health care professional, comes home from work she throws all her clothes into the plastic "biohazard bin" and heads straight for the shower.

It didn't have to be this way.

Fuck off and die, Trump. I've got two bottles of champagne chilling in my fridge, one for when Trump is no longer President, and one for when he's dead. He's the worst president since Reagan. I hated that meat puppet president as well.

I change from work clothes to street clothes at the clinic, come home, bag the work clothes, hit the shower, and then get into some pajamas for the evening. Two showers a day; I'm going through soap like it's going out of style.

I never once worried or lost a night's sleep about what was going on in the world when Obama was in charge. I knew he was perfectly capable of handling whatever came his way and surrounded himself with competent, intelligent people to assist him.

With Trump, every day I wake up wondering what fresh hell awaits us and I am constantly in fear that how ever bad it is, it can always get worse. I feel like I have been holding my breath for the better part of the last four years.

I cannot wait until that day. Every day brings a barrage of outrages, lying, bullying, corruption, racism, incompetence, stupidity, and on and on. It's just exhausting. I want things to be calm and boring. I want to be able to relax and go about my day, knowing that competent, smart people who care are in charge. This HAS to happen.

When Tony Evers beat Scott Walker in 2018 to become Governor, pretty soon after that we all quit hearing about anything the Governor did. Business just got taken care of and the divisiveness ramped way down, with the exception of fucktards Vos and Fitzgerald kneecapping the Gov at every turn.

Not you, not me, but the last 3 years have made it obvious that competency is a valuable commodity. A commodity whose value is not recognized or appreciated by about %30 of the American population. While I want to have a day that doesn't end with "what dumb shit will he pull tomorrow," as much as the next person we need to understand that this undercurrent in America is very strong and will pull the country into our current hell if it ever gets the chance again.

It's not just democrats who are sick of the everyday idiocy and corruption. I believe 90% of Independents and many who voted for Trump are just worn out as well with the endless turmoil. Only his solid base of 30-35% can imagine going another four years, hell even four more months.

I liked NOT being reminded who was President every day. I liked the lack of scandal.

They tried to create scandal over mustard, tan suits, and bare-armed first ladies. All they got was ridicule.

Maybe I will remember Biden is President (please, God) every day. I will remember because I will be giving thanks every day.

He's scaring the shit out of everybody! Our country needs a break when maybe the president was on the news once or twice a week.
