audio tape of Obama (then a state senator, so probably nearly a decade old) where Obama says "redistribution". It's a fairly short clip, so I suspect it's taken completely out of context.
And then Faux goes on to say "The polls are nearly tied, Obama is only leading by 1 point" and "1 in 5 voters are still up for grabs"...
Holy Crap I hate these people.

(6,960 posts)I heard somewhere on the television machine this morning that Drudge and Rmoney campaign manager Matt Rhoades have a "close" relationship.
So, the reappearance of this clip on Drudge yesterday and Rmoney's reference to it today is not a coincidence.
Well, the charge is so lame -- we all participate in "redistribution". When you get any kind of insurance policy you are engaging in redistribution ... health people's premiums pay for the care of sick folks; people's whose house never burn down pay for replacing the houses of people whose do burn down; etc.
People who pay into Social Security but die young end-up funding Social Security for people who live a long life.
The property taxes of people in rich neighborhoods help pay for schools in neighborhoods with low property values.
Frankly, this will be used by a desperate Rmoney campaign to try and paint Obama as a European socialist Marxist -- and it will go nowhere because it is over-the-top and simply not supportable by anything Pres. Obama has done (big surprise).
But speaking of redistribution -- if Rmoney didn't pay any federal income taxes in the last ten years, then he must be a 47 per center freeloader, too, right?

Any government that taxes AND has services does some amount of redistribution. The suggestion is that he's a socialist. That socialist charge hasn't been working except with the extreme right-wing. I don't think this is much to worry about. Look how young he is in it - it's very obviously really old.
