Look who had no problem forcing people into wearing masks/face-coverings!

Found this the other day.

"And the leper in whom the disease is, his clothes shall be torn, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, "Unclean! Unclean!" - Leviticus 13:45, King James Bible.

And the leper had to live alone in a place outside the community with other lepers or beggars. If he came into town or into the proximity of those "clean", he had to remain 6-feet (Gee. Where have we heard that number before?) upwind or 150-feet downwind of "the clean", and had to announce his presence by yelling "Unclean!" so others would know he was near. If he didn't, he could be stoned to death.

Good ole' Old Testament law!

Nothing for other plagues that were easily transmitted. This for leprosy (if that's what it really was), which was difficult to transmit.

All of these are signs of shame and ostracizing. I swear, some people would want to set up a lepers' colony on Molokai again, if they could. Just not with lepers.

A leper was unclean. Which is the same as touching a dead body, accidentally eating a dead bug, ejaculating or being menstruous. Then there's the whole "house leprosy" thing nobody really understands. Except that while menstruating was a short term thing, the others could be remedied with a bath and sunset, a leper was long-term unclean.

Few other countries will let us visit. The risk is too great. 14 day quarantine might work but Americans are notorious scofflaws and freedumb!
