At the rate that Florida is filling up their hospitals with Covid patients,

the beds will reach capacity at the same time that the schools are due to open. Would our Republican governor be heinously criminal-minded enough to force that school opening in that event?

I can't answer that question with what I've seen from him, or from Kemp. They both should face human tribunals after this is over.

Closing labs, opening up schools, etc.

I guess the republicans are going with "herd immunity" or better yet "survival of the fittest".

Except for their families.

Local means their friends and family members could be part of the casualty list.

There is strong evidence that the state surgeon general is silencing local health departments. It was reported on news that he Palm Beach health authorities were told to shut up after initially telling the school board it’s not safe to open.

In Orange County, Dr Raul Pino has gone silent and the OCPS school board is too spineless to act without hearing specifically from him that it’s too unsafe to open.

Of course, most were probably tested because of known exposure, most often illness in the family, but still.

Positive means infected. Infected means contagious, even if asymptomatic. Kids seemingly don't spread it as much as adults, but that just means they spread it less.

Agree about the tribunals. I'm starting to dream of, eventually, a Republican Party under new management, turning on them and giving them no place to hide. Conservatives are overall big on punishing crime, and this is big crime happening to them.

They would be in a incubator for six or seven hours
including the bus ride for some. I couldn't do it.
