Meanwhile - How's The Census Data Collection Going?......

I haven't heard anything about how the response has been to the Census. Do we know if people are responding or not?

1. I do a lot

of surveys for e-Rewards, and just yesterday, I got one asking me if I did the 2020 Census. I answered that I had, and that ended it right there. My guess is that the Census Bureau is still trying to get information from difficult to reach people.

I was working for the Census but declined to work the next round as I’d gotten a job in our local school district, in FL. Fools are going fool steam ahead to reopen so I resigned. Just messaged my old Census boss to see ... Awesome!!! Just texted back they need a supervisor here and the training starts .... tomorrow!!! He had offered me the position before so...

3. We responded but continued to get a series of demands to respond.

So apparently Trump has broken the Census too.

4. I signed up to act as a census canvasser in CA back in Feb.

They plan to hold online training starting July 31, with field operations ramping up in August.

5. I work for the Census

As a Field Supervisor but not for the 2020. I'm on leave this week so don't have the latest, but as of 3 weeks ago, field operations were just starting up again, only in selected areas taking the pandemic into consideration. Each week more areas are ramped up for follow up. Even with the new online response available there is still much to be done in person. We get updated regularly so we are aware of what's happening in each of our areas because, while our work goes on every day year round, many people are unaware of the many other surveys we conduct. The Decennial wreaks havoc with our data collection. I can update with real numbers when I get them next week.

I reached out to my old Census boss and I got hired back as a supervisor. The training is tomorrow am. Talk about serendipity.!

7. I applied to be a canvasser back in February

My application was accepted. Training was to begin in May, but was shelved. Sunday I received a call asking if I was still available for class next week, but declined as I just accepted a short-term contract to do engineering work. So yes, it is picking up again, just a couple of months late.
