Target, CVS join list of retailers requiring face masks in all stores nationwide

https://www.localmemphis.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/cvs-requiring-masks/507-f9bc79ff-3aab-48e9-a979-414e29e98554

WASHINGTON — Target and CVS are the latest retailers to announce that they will require customers to wear masks or face coverings at their stores nationwide.

The announcements were made after other major companies like Walmart, Sam's Club, Kroger and Kohl's decided this week to require masks as confirmed coronavirus cases continue to rise across the country.

Starting August 1, Target will require all guests to wear masks or face coverings in all of their stores. However, that excludes those with underlying medical conditions and young children.

For any shoppers that don't have a mask, stores will provide disposable masks at store entrances. More than 80% of Target's stores already require shoppers to wear face coverings due to local and state regulations, the company said.

In New Jersey, every retail establishment has been mandated to require masks in stores and it's a great thing - happy to see these companies coming around.

Every institution should enforce mask rules, and not necessarily the governor of each state.
Laws and rules are meaningless without rigorous enforcement.
Who is going to police statewide mask rules? Not enough police manpower available for that.
OTOH a store or library or restaurant can easily enforce rules re:masks.
I can stay away from crowded beaches and mass protests easier than buying groceries or going to library.

since there are not enough police, the solution is to make store clerks the enforcers? They're already in enough danger just from working those jobs, now they're going to have a Trump humper covidiot yelling in their face, and maybe trying to rip their masks off.

This whole thing has turned into a shitshow.

And, when ordinances have no teeth, many will not adhere, especially when the idea of protecting others is in play.

The places I can not avoid (grocery stores, hospitals, doctor's office etc) can not effectively policed by police!
But 99% of people will obey the person monitoring entrance to such places.

There should not be any exemption. If you are on oxygen, you are already super hugh risk. Put mask over it.

How about this, if you are "medically unable" to wear a mask, you should stay the fuck home.
