THIS STATEMENT IS INSANE.

(81,322 posts)If that happy result ensues, then we ALL better keep him on a VERY short leash. I dread him embracing an if I cant have it, nobody can type attitude. At that point, the military may have to get involved - to keep him contained so he doesnt wreck the joint on his way out, just for spite.
Remember, the donald is extremely petty and vindictive. And he doesnt forget a slight.
Sweet Lord I hope Im just overdoing it, paranoia-wise...

Republican party executive committee members have attacked Governor Abbot in Texas because he isn't completely against anyone wearing a mask.

Your child's life is WAY less important than making the rich richer and convincing enough fools to vote for these criminals in November.

Not one of those people is in the 1% and therefore do not count, not in Trump's and the GOP's world, at any rate. We are all so damned expendable to those hollow, evil, vile people.

Any parent that has the means to keep their kids home, should. School won't be in session long. One sick kid will shut down a school and that'll be that.

(235 posts)I have sarcastically said this to people when arguing, and more often than not it kind of works to end the discussion. But it seems as though the WH really lives by this mantra though, because they seem to never let facts/science/ethics/morals/intelligent reasoning/mathematics/statistics/basically anything, get in the way of their conclusions.

(16,743 posts)reasoning but more focused on dividing intent. Christo-fascism/ white supremacy appears to be their end game. I never used to begrudge anyone their religious beliefs. But when those "beliefs" are USED for political and divisive reasons in a country based on freedom of religion, but separation of church and state, you lost my tolerance. Of course Ingraham's nazi salute at the convention in Cleveland gave her end game away...

(1,206 posts)And it isn't up to Trump or Disinformation Barbie or even Devos to decide if and how schools open. It's up to the locality and more importantly in most cases, the parents of the child attending the school.
My wife and I decided not to have our daughter attend school (kindergarten) in person this year and instead opted to take the route of what amounts to home-schooling. She will miss the social interaction, but under the school's reopening plans there wouldn't be much of it anyway - having the kids wear masks all day would prevent her from even knowing what her classmates even look like., let alone being able to be near enough to play with them.
