Of COURSE the author felt the need to include Floyd’s coroner’s toxicology report. Because that has f—- all to do with the school board member’s racist bullcrap.

What the hell.

Unfortunately, school board members can't be forced to leave. You need a recall election, which might be hard to pull off during a pandemic.

He is a libertarian that worked for the school district his whole life and retired on top of the earners--before Walker even. He is a complete hypocrite. But what would one expect from a dyed-in the wool libertarian. They are children.
He showed his students some shit movie from convict Dinesh D'souza about whether or not America could survive Hillary. No one complained-I only heard about it later. I am in Trump country all the way.

he has resigned

The post recognized that Grams is an elected official, meaning the Board “does not having the authority to remove or to discipline a member of the Board” under Wisconsin law.

Yet, Grams still resigned Sunday, according to the Shawano School Board.

The Shawano School Board said it held a special meeting Sunday to address complaints after Grams’ post received more than 100 likes, nearly 1,000 comments, and more than 80 shares..

As part of a resolution, the board said: “Mart Grams has established that he has compromised his ability to represent the community as a member of the Board of Education and ought to immediately, in the best interests of the Shawano School District and Board of Education, tender his immediate and unconditional resignation from the Board.”

He has not resigned.
He is not one to resign over a joke(the way he would think)
He is a Libertarian and thinks like one.
He is juvenile in his thinking in these matters. He is not stupid. He is a troll.

The board is saying, “He should resign precisely because a ton of people in our community actually agree with him and like what he is saying. That makes us all look bad. Therefore, he should resign.”

But he hasn’t. And he probably won’t. That’s because a lot of his constituents agree with him. The board needs to pull their heads out of the sand and admit that their community is far more bigoted and racist than they want to believe.

the board can't remove him. Only the voters can.
BTW--he ran unopposed (I think)--last session.
The board wants him out(Libertarian has no reason to be on it)

It’s the board’s logic that is fascinating to me. They say they want him to resign precisely because a lot of people liked his offensive joke. That seems somewhat undemocratic.

He did apologize-- not a weaselly one, either.
I don't think he is a racist.I know the guy. He is, however, a libertarian troll.
He is likable in some ways. He is immersed in the libertarian ideology, though. If he could shed that, he might be a decent guy.
Somehow, he never grew up from it.

This is the kind of thing that I love about DU. There’s often an insider in the area that can shed light on any given news story.
