I've never believed that the DJIA was an accurate measure of the economy, but if it was let's
look at Obama vs trump. When Obama took over -- on March 9, 2008 the Dow was 6507, shortly after his
inauguration.
On Oct. 28, 2016 it was 18,161, an increase of 11,654.
The Dow closed at 26,672 on Friday, an increase of 8,511.
Obama inherited a recession and trump inherited a boom. Still Obama did better.
Of course, the covid virus brought the market down a bit from it's high, but even then, Obama's
increase was more. And trump owns the virus and the deaths since February or before.
Aside from the rich guy club of Wall Street, the economy is in terrible shape. The Dow seems not to care
about 45 or 50 million unemployed, they were never the big players anyway. It fluctuates to it's own beat.
The media needs to call out dump on this easily proven fact.

(25,816 posts)I'm so sick of hearing trump say the greatest BS.
In the real world, on Main Street, people are suffering badly. If the unemployment benefits
are not extended, the banks will own millions of homes and people will not only be
unemployed, but on the streets too.
