How have we been able to survive over 3 1/2 years where every single fucking day brings new outrages? (and I don't even watch TV - I just look at DU, and TPM, and Slate, and NYT and read it and weep).

As good as Democrats, as good as we here at DU, try to be - living a good, empathetic life, caring, concern for the future, for the earth, for each other - as much as we try, that is exactly as hard as the "other side" tries to be fucking assholes, with their greed, selfishness, narcissism, or ignorance - willful or otherwise. Think about that - we are truly seeing Bizarro world (to use a term that first showed up in a Seinfeld episode).

We are watching a media that gets outplayed at every turn, due to the density of lies and gaslighting and daily outrages. What we need is a media that can walk and chew gum at the same time - hold truth as a standard, be a memory for us all. What we have is a media that each outrage complete knocks out and mentally erases a previous outrage (Russia, anyone? Troop bounties, anyone?)

I think we are indeed witnessing a true black hole of humanity - a person whose darkness is so profound that it sucks up every bit of energy and light around it. And yet he is never fed, never satisfied.

2. I honestly feel sick to my stomach.

I feel this way almost every night, but especially tonight. I have not even been able to eat tonight because I feel so sickened. I am so damned tired of this bullshit.

I really wish there was a brave patriot in this country who was willing to do what was necessary to put an end to this nightmare for all of us. Whether it is someone in the Senate who is willing to lead a charge against him and rally their fellow republicans or something else that I can't mention here, we need a hero who can finally end this once and for all.
