DanRather on Trumps inter I imagine there is quite a scene at the WH trying to contain the fallout

We have such a dumb joke as a President.

A tip of the Stetson to Chris Wallace. A consummate pro. Tough. Prepared. Fair. Always ready with a fact check and a follow-up question. I imagine there is quite a scene at the White House trying to contain the fallout.

Painful to watch, but good job by Chris Wallace.

Displays the psychological test that President Trump said he “aced” and claimed doctors were “very surprised” by his “unbelievable” results.

Wallace: The test asks you to identify an elephant.

"Ready? Will you please get me the mortality rate? Kayleigh is right here... I heard we have the best mortality rate" - the WH just flat out made up a chart to create a false impression that the US has the best mortality rate in the world during Trump's interview w/ Chris Wallace

2. The whole interview was heavily edited.

Hal Sparks did one of his MST3K airings of this thing last night. It's on his YouTube page. He points out most of the edits, along with his commentary. Some of them were pretty blatant I have no doubt the thing resulted in chaos among his staff. It's no wonder they had him out golfing all weekend. I'd love to know what got edited out...

3. Great post. An observation: Wallace is getting all these accolades, but really he just did his job.

What's extraordinary is that no one is doing their jobs, especially no one at Fox.

Wallace didn't "hold his feet to the fire" or "ask the tough questions. " He pointed out the obvious each time Donny Bodybags tried to twist the obvious into something that was obviously untrue.

It is tragic that this is SO unusual and that this is considered a hard-hitting interview.

This interview magnitudes less challenging than any interview Obama ever gave.

This interview was the least everyone should do when talking to Donny Bodybags. It was easy questions lobbed to an uncoordinated trained seal, and the trained seal kept letting the questions hit him in the face instead of catching them.

did kind of give up and move on after the enormous spinning from trump.

In fairness, I'm not sure there's anyone alive with the level of working memory required to keep track of all of trump's distractions and deflections in real time.

The next person who gets trump in the chair needs to have at least 1 fact checker on-site and another person who can steer the questions back on track.

I can't wait to see what the Lincoln Project does with this.

Can you imagine what people viewing this interview around the world thought! World leaders have known for the past three years that Trump is ignorant, but this interview solidifies the fact that Trump is also mentally challenged. The dictators of the world—Putin, Xi, Erdogan, Kim—will be working to subvert the November election because Trump is an absolute gift to them.

check it out. It would be funny under different circumstances, but it is just plain scary at this point. He is impaired and taking us over many cliffs, just for his own ego and sociopathy.

thinks he is master of how people perceive him now and into the future.

People like his niece speak their own truth now. And more will do it once he is out of office, followed by a flood of information once he is dead.

What does it matter at that point? It matters for the future of the nation to expose the far reaching web of crooked and criminal influence on government that he carried out through the network of his family, Senate members, appointees, and Russian connections.

A lesson and a warning for the future on populism and on how to avoid fascism here at home.
