Finished Mary Trump's Book - I've been right all along

I've stopped posting as much as I used to at DU in most part - because it forces to me to hang on Trump's every word. Like every single one. At points in the past year and a half, I almost started a thread just to make sure we had all of his lies, illegal activity, and destruction of our constitution in one place. Even that was too much.

Trump learned this behavior when he was 2 and 1/2 years old. His mother was sick for about a year - and that left him with Fred for comfort.

The thing is - Fred was a psychopath - for whom cruelty was the point. He encouraged bullying behavior, lying, and a killer instinct. This is how Trump gained favor with his father -eventually replacing his older brother as the heir apparent.

He has literally been REWARDED all of his life for this behavior. It's what he knows.

The biggest, the hugest, the most central, the center of attention, the spotlight.

Now I read he is going to start up his daily Corona-virus briefings again.

You know what WON'T happen? None of the networks will give free time to Biden to respond.
No one will fact check him real time.
No data that we can use will be shared with us.
No truthful detail regarding the state of the virus.

DUer's - I've been here a long time. Like a really long time. You seriously do NOT have to watch these. You don't have to post about it.

Know why - the Media will do a story about this daily. If they want CLICKS and papers sold and ears on the radio - they can report on it AFTER the fact. They can fact check every word - since their personnel at site with the exception of a few - refuse to call out Trump real time.

All we do when we watch 'real time' - is tell the networks that they should air it. We are feeding a beast for whom ATTENTION and WINNING at all costs is the ultimate prize.

Just by tuning in - he wins.

Don't let him win. Don't let him have your ears/eyes/attention when he has done nothing to deserve it. He lies and people die.

We aren't the media outlets. We saw how they continually said and wrote - we believe he is being Presidential. We saw how Morning Joe and Andrea Mitchell propped him up on MSNBC. You know why? Him calling in was 'good ratings'. He has not been Presidential, he won't be and the more stony faced and hardened heart we are -

The more rage he will experience.

That's all - but read the book.

Mary Trump has given Joe Biden a Big Book of Buttons To Push - to make Trump lose his mind.

We got our Uncle Ruckus - our Maltese in October 2016. He would literally howl and cry (puppy) when he heard his voice.

I've gotten Trump 'said' from other media - or when I'm listening to Sirius on my way to/from work.

Now Rachel Maddow - with her calm sonorous voice? She soothes him to sleep.

Not joking. Dead serious. And he sits up and 'watches' her and the guy who does the Allstate commercials - Dennis Haysbert.

Dog knows!

That one gets archived and is the official documentation for historical record.

Another thing - Twitter could technically shut him down tomorrow. Just tell him to use his POTUS account. He gets back the Personality Account after he leaves office.

It's just as well I don't watch anymore. We can all figure out who the Worst Person is every day now.

for a lot of reasons. I came back because it's an election year.

I'll have to wait for an audio version to come out, and even then it's doubtful I'll read that book beyond excerpts. I'm from New England and I was only a few degrees separated from that orange disaster, having met some of the people he ruined over the years just because he could. There is a reason he did so poorly in that part of the country. That's it.

I've known for a long time what he is and what his family is. I don't buy Mary's premise that his mother's illness had anything to do with it, he'd have been dumped off her lap by baby brother Robert no matter what. I think he was born with loose screws and his father discouraged anyone from trying to tighten them. I do agree that Fred was the problem, but once a kid grows up and becomes an adult, problems like that turn into responsibility. Dumdum is what he is and he is responsible for it now: a liar, a bully, a cheat, an ignoramus, and a danger to us all.

When the press in general started to hang on his every word, I disengaged from them. When Comey threw the election to him, I was devastated because I knew the Republicans had long since devolved into a mob organization and would never remove him, no matter how he betrayed the country.

My tolerance for anything from that family is gone.

Her credentials as a political psychologist - that's what gives her credibility.

He already had the narcissism and sociopath framework (inherited from his father). His upbringing did it.

And here's the thing - the ENTIRE family is this way. There have never been guard rails around any of them.

I think about how they shut out Mary's father because he didn't tow the line. They shut out his children.

Then I think about the older Trump Children trying to shove Tiffany out of the will. They will probably do the same thing to Baron.

I've got a feeling - Tiffany - after she gets through law school (he's paying for it) is going to pull away from her family. She knows he's probably already kept her out of the will as punishment for being Marla's child - she has nothing to lose by changing her last name to Maples and going it alone.

She's very lucky to have not grown up anywhere near these people.
