It was laughable that one comment said it was no time for “purity tests”. He’s a fucking repug who is opposed to nearly every Democratic principle. Sharing a dislike for Trump is not enough.

If Kasich wants to endorse Biden he should do it at a separate press conference and not as a speaker at our convention.

and not as a speaker at our convention." <--- This. Let him endorse Biden. Let Kasich endorse Biden all he wants. The Democratic National Convention should feature speakers from the Democratic party. We have plenty of our own elder statesmen and women to speak in support of Biden, as well as rising stars who would benefit from the exposure. Kasich's presence is potentially polarizing and completely unnecessary.

We don the need no stinking repugs speaking at a Democratic convention. Next, Biden will be asked how many repugs he’ll have in his cabinet. It weakens us as a party.

We get a chainsaw to shake. Haven’t we learned by now? This is the party that actually said “bipartisanship is date rape”. And Kasich is a Neanderthal with women, keeps trying with 6-week bans, attempting to ban abortion if there’s a Down syndrome diagnosis, and other egregious woman-hating crap. No thank you.

As long as he doesn't use it as a platform to push a Republican agenda. It has the potential to sway some R voters, and we need every vote we can possibly get.

A net loss of x Dems in pursuit of a few R votes at a Dem convention that few if any Rs will even be watching.

Doesn't sound very logical.

Better to have a Kasich-Biden news conference in Columbus than to use up valuable Dem time at the convention.

Takeover of the Democratic party going on. If the cons want to fix their party, then do it now and not through ours. They do not have the same priorities as Democrats. Republicans are trying to infest our party and ruin ours like they've done to their own.

If they had any integrity, they'd get in a fight with their own leaders and bring them back from the fascist cliff they've brought our country to.

Don't do it, it's big fucking deal.

He talks only about how bad Trump is for him and his party, and says NOT ONE WORD about abortion rights, which he vehemently opposes.

Otherwise, a prominent Republican telling the USA from a national forum that his party has lost his way isn't the worst thing that we can have. That's not an "overreach" across the aisle on our part. It's a reach across the aisle on THEIR part, and one that it was obviously very painful for them to make. It was made reluctantly, and out of dire national necessity. We could do worse.

Simple Math...If John Kasich can sway 10,000 independent or Republican voters in Ohio to vote for Joe Biden then Joe Biden wins Ohio. If Joe Biden wins Ohio he becomes the next President of the United States. Simple math.

especially I am assuming a fairly prominent one. His record on abortion and LGBT rights isn't just bad, it is among the worst even of GOP politicians. His economic policy is as bad as that or worse. There are multitudes of Democratic politicians who won't make the cut. None should be sitting at home or given less prominent slots than he.

Any republicans who will abandoned trump already have. But low information independents who really don’t follow politics are especially fickle. We have most now. But we lost them in 16.

In my heart I hate the idea. But in my mind I see the upside.

I guess I’m ambivalent.
