(1,979 posts)She won by almost 3 million votes. Gerrymandering, Russia, Voter Suppression created the mess we are in now. What the Democrats did not do was to build from within, from the smallest towns outward to Washington. GOP has been working on this plan for years and well, they got the Electoral College - but only with the interference of Russia!
She did win -she won the votes of the PEOPLE and it is our loss that she was not our first woman President of the United States of America.

(32,626 posts)...but Democrats most certainly build from within, when they can....which is why Republicans have to lie, cheat, and steal to win elections.

(5,020 posts)I am so effing tired of people blaming the Democrats for being unable to overcome a system that was designed to keep white racist men in power! The most amazing thing about the Democrats is the number of times since the civil rights act was passed where we HAVE overcome that system - and it took Russian interference and treason on the part of federal elected officials to stop us in 2016.
Sure, we have to do better at building from within but, like minorities and women, we have to work twice as hard to be 1/2 as successful.

Sarandon, Stein,.....
They literally ran an endless swiftboating campaign to remake her image.
And yes, the people STILL chose her.
Well except in those key target States.
They all know who they are.

(15,222 posts)Some of us tried to warn people, but oh no!!! Hillary was such a threat as a strong, savvy and experienced candidate.
I cried on election night and I dont think there have been many days since that Ive not shed tears. It was a turning point and we lost big time.
If she were President, there wouldnt be 140,000 plus dead.
