Jail for using chalk on sidewalk?

Forget murderers and thieves. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and police Chief Paul Rooney are using their resources — and your money — to go after a 25-year-old who was brandishing a writing utensil.

One that washes away with the rain.
Check out these bizarre and unusual destinations around the world.

Just before Christmas, OPD arrested 25-year-old Timothy Osmar for "writing or painting advertising matter on streets or sidewalks"

The man arrested is part of the Occupy Orlando Protest.

I stole a piece of chalk, and trying my best to remember a bad word, and using the best penmanship I had just learned, wrote a few.

A big kid saw me, and tried to turn me in. I ran home and barricaded the door.

Finally, he went away.

And so, my life as a nonviolent protestor began.

From the article:

"As of Friday, Osmar was still in jail..."

Almost two weeks worth of incarceration for chalking a sidewalk?!

What good is the constitution and America's "values" if the people and the government don't respect them? And its interesting how Americans in the government would be tyrannical given the chance. That shows how little respect they give to America and how little patriotism they actually have.

He was jailed because he is part of the Occupy movement. The chalk was simply the needed excuse.

Seeing how local government would be tyrannical if given the opportunity. Impressions of mayors like Bloomberg and Villaraigosa, among others, have been shattered...
