that there is an ugly side to human nature. Even though I already knew this, the terrible behavior of a certain percentage of Americans has shocked me and left me bereft, grieving for a better world that will never exist because too many people are awful.

who would have though this country would be struck down by not only by this Covid 19 but now we have an Asshole President who will do nothing about it, even as it continues to spread and people continue to die. I hope he will be the very first President who ends up in Prison for crimes against this country, and the state of New York. This man must pay for the lives , he has allowed to die on his watch. It 's like we are being invaded and he doesn't care except for his own safety.

I think this issue is one of the wedge issues Russian trolls have targeted to inflame and support, with the aid of the Russian wing of the FOX News channel, and Trump all stirring this up. I don't believe people would have gotten into this state of irrationality, anger, fear, and selfishness on their own.

Of course it's discouraging that they are able to be manipulated so much, but they've been molded over three decades into this malleable mass. But to me it's a little better to think that they may not be inherently so selfish.

But Trump has encouraged it to come out into the light. Before Trump, I really think many of the buttholes we see on videos and here about on the news (and see in Congress and the Senate) would have been closet racists and bigots and thugs. Now they feel pride in their defects and are only to willing to get in your face about it.

Frightening, though. There are way more of them than I had ever suspected. Way more. America harbors millions of truly horrible, despicable, selfish, lowlife people. 10s of millions of them. People who will gladly vote again for a man who, along with his sons and daughter, has been restrained by court order from ever starting up a charity foundation again, ever, because of the fraud perpetrated by the DJT foundation which was used as a profit center for the family. Yeah, say Trumpians, nothing wrong with that, we like a man who knows how to grift and steal from the sick and infirm. And for a man who unleashes unidentified storm troopers on American citizens, beating, gassing, and shooting them without provocation and in complete disregard of the orders issued by state and local officials to stay out of their territory. Yeah, says the Trumpians again, nothing wrong with that, we like a man who isn't (ain't?) bothered by crappy laws when he wants to attack people he doesn't like -- did you see the way those protestor's ran in D.C. when he ordered his troops to attack without warning -- just like we did back in the day when the Navy attacked the Japanese at Pearl Harbor!

Yep, stupid, ugly, intransigent despicable people voting for their real role model and "chosen" leader.

The CDC forecasts that the number of new fatalities in the coming weeks will increase in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Hawaii, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina and Utah.

Most of us suffer jobs that are not making the world a better place, yet no politician, left or right, is saying we should eliminate the jobs that do the most damage to our planet's natural environment and our own human spirit.

I think we should be paying people to experiment with lifestyles that have a very low environmental footprint and measuring our success in terms of human happiness.
