NPR's On Point had a good program this morning. I only caught the last part so I didn't get the name of the guest or his organization. He is the guy who did a report around 2009 about RW extremist groups recruiting people in the police and military. He said the situation is far worse now than it was then. There are numerous connections and alliances between police and RW militias around the country.

Another guest who is a black police sargeant or lieutenant told of several openly racist officers being totally accepted and promoted. Several have close ties with Oathkeepers.

I tried to look up a transcript or podcast on this but couldn't find it. Maybe someone else can. It was very good, but scary.

The main guest said he expects things to get much worse as we get closer to election day.

I have funds going to bail fund efforts. It’s what I can do from afar to stand with the protestors in the streets. I want to be there in person, but I have two high risk individuals that I am morally obligated to stay infection free for...at least until some logistics change.

I am frustrated on the sidelines, but feel that surviving and voting are a laudable form of resistance as well.

But like you, I have limits, and am looking real hard at how I can have the space to go protest, and on the turn of a dime if need be.
