If he is silent, is it because he's taking drugs that cause him to get sleepy? Both Aricept and Namenda can make you drowsy. Namenda can also cause hallucinations as an extreme and rarer side effect. (Both drugs are designed to slow down dementia.)

(32,017 posts)People with Cluster B personality disorders are noted for having trouble falling asleep. I know of three that take trazodone for this purpose.

(61,695 posts)Some people have paradoxical side effects. Both drugs have drowsiness listed as a potential side effect. They can also list trouble sleeping as a side effect.
