Germany rejects Trump's proposal to let Russia back into G7: foreign minister

https://mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN24R0T7

(Reuters) - Germany has rejected a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin back into the Group of Seven (G7) most advanced economies, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said in a newspaper interview published on Monday.

Trump raised the prospect last month of expanding the G7 to again include Russia, which had been expelled in 2014 following Moscow's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region.

But Maas told Rheinische Post that he did not see any chance for allowing Russia back into the G7 as long as there was no meaningful progress in solving the conflict in Crimea as well as in eastern Ukraine.

Russia itself could make the biggest contribution to becoming part of the G7 format again by contributing to a peaceful solution in the Ukraine conflict, Maas said.

Just drove up to him on a bike and BAM, a shot to the back of the head. He was a wanted terrorist in Russia and was living in Germany, waiting for his asylum-application to Germany. Rather than waiting for how this would play out, Putin decided to simply have him assassinated.

rump is still pushing for Russian involvement in the G-7? Hey, rump didn't want to be any part of anything so who is going to listen to rump anymore? No one (and no one should either).

That would seem to be a prerequisite.

But yeah, until they stop the aggressive invasion of Ukraine, there shouldn't even be discussions. Trump is desperate. His window of opportunity to please Daddy Putie is closing.

I seriously doubt any EU country would go along with it.
