We can only do what the virus lets us do. We keep on trying to do things that the virus will not allow us to do. Now it looks like there may be an attempt to open schools. Lets see what the virus says about that.

There is nothing that says are kids will die or suffer brain damage if they don't return to school for a year. Spend the money, take the time to set up a way to school our kids at home for a year. Why put teacher lives at risk? Why risk infecting kids and having them bring it home? Why attempt to do things that will extend the pandemic?

You don't defeat a virus by doing things that will strengthen the virus.

Opening schools is nothing more than offering up a sacrificial lamb used a smoke screen to tell people to go back to work. If the wealthy - at least those whose livelihoods and wealth are not dependent on the stock market - do not have working class Americans working for them and making them money, then they will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
