What's up with this Newsweek opinion article from the Yale epidemiologist re: hydroxychloroquine?

I'm noticing that the people who share that video of Drumpf's new favorite doctor are also big fans of this particular article. What, if anything, am I missing? Is he just another outlier? I noticed he says the drug has been politicized...then went on Laura Ingraham to talk about it.

The articles is a complete fluff piece for HCQ, and the comments strongly praise the doctor, with VERY few dissenting opinions. The comments are also rife with the usual conspiracy mongering about BigPharma suppressing the drug for profit, and Democrats wishing to discredit Trump.

I suspect he's got an agenda of some kind, but I have no evidence. Maybe he's just an attention-seeker?

Complete contradiction to what he says and Brazil has a nutty President that was pushing for its use big time:
