President Obama's lead in Michigan has jumped to 14 points over Republican nominee Mitt Romney, according to a new poll commissioned by The Detroit News and WDIV released on Thursday. The poll, which surveyed 600 likely voters and has a margin of error of 4.0 percent, showed Obama with 52 percent to Romney's 37.8 percent.
Obama's margin stems from a twenty-point lead among women. The number of women identifying themselves as Democrats in Michigan jumped from 43 percent in August to 55 percent in September -- nearly double the 29 percent identifying themselves as Republicans.

(8,377 posts)If all three of those get away from Romney, it is over. I'm sure the good election officials of Ohio have some tricks in store, but this may be moving outside the range that election fraud can overcome, particularly considering that the biggest dirty tricks have been blocked by the courts.
Romney has a problem. VA and OH are both absolutely vital, and they are both starting to get out of range for Romney. Making one campaign appearance every 2 or 3 days won't keep them close.
Meanwhile, FL is also going the wrong way for Romney. He made a couple of appearances there yesterday and might get around to a few things in Ohio next week if he isn't too busy loading up his campaign fund (money that he can keep after the election, mind you.)
Seriously, it looks like his main goal right now is to collect as much money as he can, that he plans to keep after the election.
