Trump Reportedly Mulled Over A Possible Loophole That Would Allow Him To Bypass Congress To Impose Certain Policies

https://politicaltribune.org/trump-reportedly-mulled-over-a-possible-loophole-that-would-allow-him-to-bypass-congress-to-impose-certain-policies

Donald Trump is preparing to start unilaterally passing major legislative items on his agenda without Congressional approval via executive order based on how a former George W. Bush official is interpreting a recent Supreme Court decision that did not go Trump’s way.

When the Supreme Court left DACA intact, it was a major win for immigration advocates and the hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

But shady lawyer John Yoo, who infamously wrote the memo defending the use of torture during the Bush administration in the wake of 9/11, is saying that the decision gives Trump the ability to pass whatever laws he wants. Seriously.

Yoo claimed in a recent article that the decision “makes it easy for presidents to violate the law, but reversing such violations difficult — especially for their successors.”

And the first move Trump apparently intends to make using this so-called “loophole” that Yoo pulled out of his a** is to enact all of the immigration policies he has been demanding.

This has to sink in and be emphasized:

Going back to this election, that is the reason why it is the most dangerous, the most significant election in history. Why Trump is, in fact—this may sound outrageous, but it’s true—Trump is the most dangerous figure in human history. The Republican Party today is the most dangerous organization in human history. You can compare Trump to, say, Hitler, the Wannsee declaration in 1942, called for killing all the Jews, tens of millions of Slavs, not destroying humanized society. There has been nothing like this. Nothing.

If somebody comes along who is charismatic and honest this country is in real trouble because of the frustration, disillusionment, the justified anger and the absence of any coherent response. What are people supposed to think if someone says ‘I have got an answer, we have an enemy’? [In Germany] it was the Jews. Here it will be the illegal immigrants and the blacks. We will be told that white males are a persecuted minority. We will be told we have to defend ourselves and the honor of the nation. Military force will be exalted. People will be beaten up. This could become an overwhelming force. And if it happens it will be more dangerous than Germany. The United States is the world power. Germany was powerful but had more powerful antagonists. I don’t think all this is very far away. If the polls are accurate it is not the Republicans but the right-wing Republicans, the crazed Republicans, who will sweep the next election.

FEC shutdown — Democracy dies in daylight, too
By Renée Graham Globe Columnist,

It goes without saying that neither Trump nor McConnell is losing any sleep over a gutted FEC. It’s yet another sign of how abandoned norms have lurched this nation into crisis, its foundation slowly crumbling beneath our feet.

Trump and McConnell don’t care about protecting voters or the voting process. They’re unconcerned about money flooding in to further corrupt elections. Neither cares about interference from any foreign country so long as the GOP remains the beneficiary, as it was three years ago.

They’re hostile toward the sanctity of our elections — which means they’re hostile toward democracy.

If the GOP senators pull the same shit as they did with the Ukraine fiasco, hit them hard every time Trump takes an authoritarian action -- like blocking Tik Tok, for God's sake, and sending U.S. troops to attack American citizens! Super Glue their lips to his fat ass and make that the issue in senatorial races.

We need to get him out of office now. We keep focusing on the November election, but the most dangerous period is going to be between the election and 11:59 a.m. on January 20. He can totally destroy our county in that time, and NATO, and the international economic agreements, and he can nuke Iran while he's playing golf in Mar-A-Lago during the inauguration. (You don't think he's going to attend Biden's swearing in ceremony, do you?)

As for Yoo, he should be shamed out of academia. He's a law professor of law at the University of California, Berkeley. Maybe it's time for an all-out protest against that school for having a terrorist on their faculty.

They will do anything at all to win. They will allow and applaud any excess or atrocity as long as they win and control everything.

IMO the four most dangerous men on the planet are Trump, Barr, McConnell, and Putin. 2nd team honors go to Boris Johnson, the entire Tory party, and Rupert Murdoch's disinformation empire.

Infrastructure plan, evidence of Obama wiretapping his campaign, etc. It reminds me of the old joke about a guy finds a ten-year-old shoe-repair ticket he'd forgotten. He goes to the shop, hands in the ticket, hoping the shoes are still there. The clerk checks the backroom and tells the guy he's got 'em, and they'll be ready in two weeks. My point is the grifter doesn't even have any imagination when he bullshits people.
