It's got nothing to do with Trump. Chuck's ratings just aren't that good compared to the other MSNBC stars. He's still there for now, however his days appear numbered. But if he starts showing some guts, his fortunes might turn around.

(10,885 posts)IMO, Chump has reached the point where he is just bored with being president, and really doesn't give a steaming shit what happens from now on. He's done and out.

(82,849 posts)Trump has indeed given up. He's abandoned the country and left it to the dubious mercies of the pandemic. There will be no assistance from the federal government, and the states (which by law must balance their budgets) will have to shoulder the financial burden of this public health emergency on their own. States will not be able to transact the public's business, and billions of dollars will be wasted in duplicative efforts.
It's bad enough that Trump doesn't give a fuck, we knew that about him from the get-go. What's worse will be the efforts of certain media outlets (*cough!*Fox!*cough*) to support Trump's abdication, supported by the work of Russian troll farms sowing division and hatred. Thousands more Americans will die, gasping their last breaths surrounded by machines and strangers.
Were the ratings worth it, Mr. Moonves?

(6,398 posts)Parscale was fired....and he was probably feeding him false polls to shut him up.
They halted ads when it was obvious they weren't working and retooling...and this late in the game, ain't good.
Now he's getting real polls. Moscow Mitch said he had until Labor Day to change things....but now tells everyone in the Senate, feel free to piss on Trump if it saves you. He can't draw rallies.....and Herman Cain died after attending one. The Convention is back in NC...and limited....no big pomp and circumstance that he craves. Economy going to shit because he tried to wish away the pandemic...which didn't happen....and was made worse because his son in-law said its only affecting blue states, who gives a shit....but couldn't fucking add 1+1 to realize, it would spread to red states, etc.
Its like one of his casino's. He assumed it was just a license to print money....but if you are incompetent, you can bankrupt a casino, with bad management. And like his casino's, once the gig was up...he gives up and walks away.

(297,464 posts)attention then.. and that's his job.
That's what trump was doing in January, February, & 10 days in March while pronouncing the "COVID a democrat hoax".. carting around the Freaking golf course.. & staging rallies.

(4,585 posts)last weekend were wearing masks. I took a drive to see what people were doing, and it was not pretty. Hundreds of people packing the sidewalks, some masked, some not. I drove past a popular outdoor venue outside of town and it was maybe 10% masked, and people were shoulder to shoulder drinking at a long bar under a shed roof.
So this Giroir completely sidesteps the question of a national mask mandate, said people would likely just rebel. THEY ALREADY ARE. The reset should've happened in June- Shut it down again and ticket people not wearing masks.

NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todds declaration that its not his job to inform viewers when politicians spread misinformation was noted by several progressive blogs today, including Talking Points Memo.
Appearing on MSNBCs Morning Joe today (9/18/13), Todd responded to Ed Rendells claim that Obamacare opponents are full of misinformation about the program by explaining that this was because Republicans have successfully messaged against it. But wasnt journalisms job to expose misinformation? No, Todd insisted; if the public was misinformed about the Affordable Care Act, it was the presidents fault for not pushing back:
What I always love is people say, Well, its you folks fault in the media. No, its the president of the United States fault for not selling it.
Its sad that NBCs White House correspondent thinks his job is merely to convey politicians pronouncements, with no care about whether they are true or false. In fact, scrutinizing claims, particularly those from powerful officials, is an essential part of journalism. Its embarrassing to have to cite elementary principles to one the nations most influential reporters, but Todd should consider reviewing the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, where, under the heading Seek Truth and Report It, the very first tenet implores journalists to test the accuracy of information from all sources.
