Rachel Maddow explains the reason for the Census cutoff.

To undermine states with the largest immingrant, POC, and poor populations, etc to reduce the number of seats in Congress. More likely seats held by Democrats in order to redraw Congressional Districts. With Trump as POTUS, the scales could be tipped towards Republicans by purposely undercounting people living in this country.

Watch this space. Scary stuff.

the census. We, meaning anyone who gives a shit, really needs to push this. I think shorting the time to count is going to hurt rural areas more. They are much more time intensive to count. I spent hours looking for a couple of addresses out in the middle of nowhere.
