Romney Today thinks he is slamming ObamaRomney running against John McCain 2007
Obama Campaign responds:
Once again, Mitt Romney is trying to take the heat off himself by taking the Presidents words wildly out of context. Thats twice in just 48 hours, which sets a new record in desperation. What the President said today is no different than what he has been saying for many years that change comes from outside Washington, not inside. When Americans came together and stood up to special interests, we reformed health care, cut taxes for the middle class and put in new rules for Wall Street. And, thats why we have elections. Mitt Romney apparently doesnt believe that change comes from the American people. Maybe thats because he has written off half the country in this election, and has repeatedly demonstrated that hes incapable of standing up to the extreme right wing of the Republican Partyeven if its in our national interest.

(4,423 posts)I ran it by the teaheads at my job and this is what they say: That the 2010 elections where the Democrats got trounced in the House biggest shift in seats since the 1930's was because of the healthcare reform so this flys in the face of the response that the people stood up for the kind of healthcare reform that they eventually got...
Followed with Obama promised to bring the parties together after Bush and what we got is far left partisanship, Obama's lack of leadership is what is causing the partisan divide on Capital Hill, a President has to work with both parties to get things done, in the interest of all Americans that is leadership....
Personally, I truly believe this country is pretty much done for.....

(1,828 posts)The response isn't for them. It's a great response for sane voters, though. Most of the country actually knows Obama tried his damnedest. They know the GOP met and discussed how to stop the government from functioning. When it comes to those guys at your job, just walk away. They're lost causes.
On the plus side for them, President Obama, when he wins, and unlike Mitt, will try just as hard to be their president as he does for the rest of us.

(4,423 posts)trying to persuade them even though it seems useless, walking away not an option they permeate this place there are many more conservative supporters than liberal, so I am mostly ridiculed you know.... "your boy Obama" etc,...
Today they ask me,... "why if Mitt Romney is such a bad candidate or if Obama is such a good candidate is the gallup poll at O-47 and R-47, especially since Mitts campaign destroying tape and press conference have dominated the news cycle for the last week.... Then they cackle about polls being over sampled democrats, and what about the 2010 enthusiasm of the right and blah, blah, don't be surprised if Obama gets trounced in November...
I do find it hard to fathom that Obama is not leading this by at least 6-8 points
