until he started with the birther nonsense. I was from the Midwest and people didn't follow the Trump escapades. Then one day I saw him being interviewed by a mainstream journalist about Obama's birth certificate and I found him to be totally bizarre and comical. His appearance, the way he talked, his belligerence, and the ridiculous things he said, it was all like an SNL sketch. I remember laughing and wondering who on earth talks like that? It was hard to understand why the MSM was actually giving him airtime, in prime time at that.

Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine such an absurd carnival act residing in the White House. In the movies, con artists were always slick, articulate, intelligent, and charismatic, as well as often good looking. Trump is more like a Harold Hill wannabe.
