I keep reading that schools feel "powerless" to enforce a mask mandate.
Back in my day dudes got sent home for wearing blue jeans, love beads, sandals, or peace pendents.
I think they can handle it.

(484 posts)The getting on ones knees and having the gym teachers check to make sure the hem touched the ground! (Of course, we rolled skirt waist bands to raise the hem an inch or two right after the check.
And not being allowed to wear pants except on special days. Fun times!

(2,249 posts)School officials in these ares are lazy and don't want to deal with parents---and by extension children---who are C19 deniers (or are deniers themselves, the school officials).
I read that too and I was like "WTF?"

Remember that Board of Ed. Trustees need re-election, and I don't believe Superintendents are covered by Tenure anywhere anymore.
Teachers are considering retirement and leaves in order to remain alive long enough to return after the vaccine.
Hopefully, everyone will remain online until the vaccines.

(14,855 posts)... who saw some of his late-60's classmates violently slammed into lockers for wearing blue jeans to school.
His yearbooks changed dramatically around 1968. Went from every student dressed almost identically one year, to a bunch of "long-haired hippies" the next year.
