Steve Schmidt says the way Pence looks at Trump fills him with dread, like watching a Chuckie movie

Schmidt's tweet a few minutes ago

It’s positively Biblical in the very best @JerryFalwellJr sense. Pence’s craven submission to Trump has frankly, always creeped me out. The way he looks at him has always filled me with the same dread I felt the first time I saw a Chuckie movie. Some people find it titillating.

Schmidt was commenting on this tweet from George Conway

which was a response to a tweet from Tim Miller of Republican Voters Against Trump:

with even half the level of adoration Pence shows Trump. Most dogs, even golden retrievers, are more skeptical about their humans than that.

Actually, now that I think of it I'm glad nobody looks at me like that because it's kind of creepy and stalkerish. If it weren't for the Secret Service Pence would be driving by Trump's house at night, stopping outside and sending him texts with heart emojis.

For Pence, it's all about putting his twisted version of Jesus in the driver's seat. He's literally praying for a Trump coronary.

A façade of sincerity is hard to keep up every minute, but Pence never falters. He always looks at Trump with those puppy-dog eyes. I tend to think he really is sincere, which makes it all that much creepier.

...with façade of sincerity maintenance. It's well-oiled, regularly practiced and virtually always on display. It's actual sincerity that gives him trouble.

maybe "toady"? Nah, not quite.

How about "lackey"? No, that doesn't quite get it either.

Ass kisser? Well, yeah, sure. But that's still not enough.

Oh, wait. I got it. "Lickspittle". Perfect for the fawning, obsequiousness of Pence towards trump. That's it.

But you just know it's all an act an will evaporate the moment trump is dumped.
