Every Day I Lose Respect For People That I've In The Past Respected.....

In talking with these people or talking to people that know and deal with these people I'm finding out how racist and brainwashed they are by Fox News, Trump and his Repug toadies.

Just now I learned that an executive of a global company is blaming George Soros for the looting that went on in the early hours of this morning in Chicago's downtown area. He says that Trump will take care of that kind of lawlessness.

Now this is a smart and educated man. How can he think that someone that is anti-Trump and supportive of the Dems would promote looting and violence. It works against his best interests and counter to electing a Dem President.

The only one that would benefit from such looting and violence is Trump. Such looting and violence plays into Trump's gameplan.

The other day I spoke with a female friend that made a racist comment about the Black Lives Matter movement that shocked me. Then she went on to say that she is a Trump supporter.

Another friend is a enthusiastic veteran. In his early 70's he supports Trump who disrespects veterans; dodged the draft by making up a story about having bone spurs and hasn't put Putin on notice about bounties for American soldiers. How could any veteran support Trump. I just don't get it.

The 2020 election will come down to this clear differences between the Parties and Trump v. Biden:

One in particular jumps out at me. Do you want a 'medicare for all' health system or are you content with a person that has said he will destroy Medicare and Social Security if he gets re-elected.

We're in trouble people. This administration is destroying the USPS. Will massage the Census data to the Repug advantage - more gerrymandering. Turns its nose up to the Constitution. Is ignoring their responsibility with respect to the pandemic. Is not doing anything to slow or stop this pandemic. Has no compassion for the people that died from this pandemic or their loved ones who's life has been impacted. I could go on and on with the destruction that is being foisted on us by this Trump Administration.

I don't know what I'll do if Trump steals this election in 2020. I just can't deal with him and this anymore. I feel so helpless and demoralized and everyday it just seems to get worse.

How did we wind up like this? How did we let this happen? And why are so many educated people blind to what is unfolding right in front of them and still be supportive of this criminal in the WH?

That's how we got here. The right came up with a long term plan and strategy on how to achieve it. Our side has been in reactionary mode since Reagan.

Some of the hardest hitting anti-Trump ads are ones created by PACs of disaffected republicans. We have
Meidas Touch & one other I can't remember the name of, but where are the hard hitting ads from the Democratic Party? Not Joe Biden's campaign, but the Party? It's like we don't believe in marketing. I just don't get it.

We're always a day late and a dollar short --- assuming Repubs will be reasonable instead of the cheating, power grabbing at any cost, sociopaths they are. They play the long game, we ring our hands only when it's evident and still don't act decisively. That's how we got to this point.

After GW stole the election twice, I haven't seen Dems concentrate on voter suppression, unequal distribution of voting machines,...until lately w/Stacey Abrams, Holder, etc..

Citizens United

Allowing voting rights act to expire under Roberts (because voter suppression is no longer a problem-right)

Over time they've taken over all the school boards to insert religion, undermine science in textbooks, etc.

The Fairness Doctrine eliminated opening the doors to right wing takeover of radio, then tv & social media. Dismantled the ???? act that limited the number of media one individual could own in a marketplace....so now Sinclair has taken over the local tv stations turning away from news and into trump talking points...I could go on.

Now the USPS being dismantled before our very eyes --- in a matter of weeks --- to help Trump win and by a person who owns stock in USPS competitors---so look for the argument that the USPS is broke. Solution - privatize to those very companies the new USPS CEO owns stock in.

Bill Barr? - need I say more.

Frustrated. Like watching the titanic speeding towards the iceberg.

Thanks for letting me rant.

That's the only hope they have going forward--that voters become dispirited and just stay home. Yes, there are a lot of things to worry about, the biggest one that Trump will refuse to accept results after throwing massive shade on the electoral process. Stealing an election is much easier in a tight race which is why our numbers need to be massive.

Losing this election is not an option for all the reasons stated. Which is why we need a united front of all factions (even disgusted Republicans/Never Trumpers) to live another day.

Here's an interesting tidbit that Chris Hayes underscored last week. Herbert Hoover was in office during the Great depression in 1932 when he ran for reelection against FDR. Even then, in the midst of economic chaos and civil unrest Hoover held 39.5% support among the American electorate on Election Day.

So . . . the blindness is generational. But not hopeless. And yes, I realize Biden is no FDR. But Trump? He makes Herbert Hoover look like a Prince.

Something bad happen? IT'S THAT DAMN SOROS AND THE DEMOCRAPS!!! THE WORK OF THE DEVIL!!!

They learned to politicize everything from Trump. Religious nuts may be especially prone to binary thinking: anything GOOD that happens is the work of God and anything BAD that happens must be the work of the godless DemocRATS!

Trump was sent by God, ya know, so do as he does. (He actually just panders to gullible religious nuts for votes--as racist/sexist/self-serving Republicans have been doing for decades.)

It's bound to happen when you empower a charlatan. Dark days ahead.

I think it's like finding an excuses for their hate and racism after the fact. In that way I think a lot of people see themselves in Donald Trump.

I understand exactly how you're feeling about losing respect for people. Our neighbors across the street are two of the sweetest people I've ever met, but in 2016 they had a giant TRUMP sign on their garage door. This time around, no Trump sign, but the husband just this past weekend put up three signs supporting three Republicans up for election in our state—all three of them money-grubbing, Trump-supporting, party-over-country, just-keep-your-head-down-until-this-thing-blows-over dick-heads.

How can these nice, intelligent people still be loyal to the party that gave us the Anti-Christ that is Trump??? Very, very depressing to have to see those signs in their yard.

As you say in your post, they must have been brainwashed by Fox News. I know they watch it. It's like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." At least, no Trump sign, but it could just be that some 2020 Trump supporters have a clue that most Americans hate Trump now, so they keep their devotion to him under wraps now.

And yes, I don't know what I'll do if Trump steals the election, either. Our ONLY hope is winning the Senate and keeping the House, so that if Putin does manage to keep his boy in office, we can impeach Trump's fat ass all over again and this time remove him from office like what should have been done the first time he was impeached.

Hang in there, global1. Good WILL triumph over evil one day. It just may take a lot longer than any of us can imagine.

everyone, 24/7, from every public and private space and without the consent of the population, all that had to happen was that a truly sociopathic and vicious set of wealthy and connected people got into power and could grab the reins. That's all.

As you have seen, and as Hitler knew, the biggest lie will be believed if you repeat it enough times. Even if it contradicts a person's direct experience. This flaw in the human brain seems to have developed to keep tribes together in order to help survival. In our world, it allows the spewing of direct nonsense straight into our brains, all the time. It was never a good idea.

front of them, 24/7?

Supposedly Howard Dean was curbed by the faux 'Dean Scream' event when his voice was altered to sound worse than reality, all because he had said he would break up big (media) monopolies on a show, maybe MSNBC I don't know.
