30. I don't understand why the Dems don't link this to the economy

The economy is about spending. And when the majority of people don't have money to spend--not even on housing, food and clothing--then the economy tanks. We know this.

It's not about "rewarding" people for not working. It's about keeping the economy afloat until the pandemic is under control. (Of course, it'd be nice if we had leadership that had any interest in getting it under control.) It's about saving as many jobs as we can until then.

Hell, even the banks will run into trouble if people can't pay their rent and landlords can't pay their mortgages. You'd think the GOP might be a little worried about that. Seriously, how many financial institutions went belly-up in 2008?
