I saw a Black man being choked by the polices and I did not speak out because I was not Black

I saw an immigrant mother detained and separated from her children, and I did not speak out because I was born in this country.

I saw a gay person harassed by a mob and did not speak out because I was not Gay.

I saw women who were raped and molested, and I did not speak out because I was male.

When they came after me, there was nobody left to speak out for me.
