Peace and happy travels, Skinner (David). This site connected and transformed me. I'm a better person thanks to the people I've met here. Know, that's because of what you did here, I learned how to be active in politics. I'll owe you a debt for that forever. I'm deeply grateful DU was sold to 'family' and not a stranger! It would have been horrible to see it sold to a something which didn't have a heart.
Thank you EarlG (Dave) for keeping us all safe, sane and connected for years to come.

Skinner, we are so lucky that you decided to create Democratic Underground. We would all be lost without this wonderful place. Thank you a million times over.

But you've already said you would, so that's taken care of.
As someone who has worked for the same outfit since being recruited 45 years ago, I'm probably not the right one to be making up slogans about what to do next, but I somehow don't think there is anything to worry about.
As they say in Warsaw: wszystkiego dobrego. Be thankful no one asks us to say it here!

(63,912 posts)It was here on DU that I first published those essays. I got positive feedback here and that gave me confidence to keep writing about art.
I am now in the process of writing my second book on art entitled "The Gladdened Heart: How art and music danced together."
None of this would have been possible without DU giving me the boost I needed to keep going on one of the most glorious ventures of my life.
Thank you again, dear David.
