My advice to those running the DNC Convention

Since this is now just a virtual convention, it will basically just be a bunch of Zoom speakers.

I like the idea of having one hour on the first or second night called “Republicans for Biden”.
So far, former GOP Governor John Kasich is scheduled to speak.

I’d like to see a few others from the following list:
Nicolle Wallace
Steve Schmidt
Stuart Stevens
Joe Scarborough
Anna Navarro
Jennifer Rubin
David Frum
Jenna Bush
Meaghan McCain

I’d also like to see one hour dedicated to Democrats that voted for Trump in 2016 but now regret that vote. This would just be “real people” (not celebrities) from across the nation (especially those who live in swing states).

I’m just talking about one hour out of four nights.
Doesn’t have to be in prime time coverage.

Space people safely and let Biden give his speech in open air. Give attendees candles or tell them to use their iPhone flashlights. You can still have a moving communal acceptance speech with The People IV you do it safely. Would contrast well with Orange Anus’ planned speech at the WH (a la Louis XIV).

That speech was 12 years ago and although I remember it like it was yesterday there are plenty of younger folk who won’t immediately see similarities.

The fact that Trump has made some Republicans (like Kasich) sound almost reasonable does not mean they should speak at the Democratic convention. I can only go so far with the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" stuff. If we thought they were jerks when Bush was president, trust me they are still pretty much jerks.

Republicans won't watch them and most Democrats will start looking for a "Law and Order" rerun.

Would be more interesting than a lot of boring speakers that conventions usually have especially in the non prime time hours.

it's why I am a Democrat. While some may have changed their tune, that doesn't mean that they support the Democratic Party, or it's ideals. If this is not an event for Democrats, by Democrats, why bother? It could be our last hurrah! I have more than enough memories of Republicans and all that they have to say, and don't care to be reminded. It's almost cruel.

Since much of the audience it needs to reach will not go online to watch.

It's unlikely most of the people you list will speak since they're under contract to television networks and newspapers nd their contracts likely prohibit them from partisan political events like this.

Cspan does it without commentary.
The others dip in and out of coverage for announcer spin and commercials.
I bet they’d all go live during a GOP for Biden segment.

At least with Kasich he has won elections in an important state for electoral votes .

And fuck no to Meghan Mccain .

Im sure they will have republicans that support Biden but most will be regular private individuals or elected officials.

most people don't care about cable news personalities.

to understanding what a total fucked up disaster Trump is, don't really deserve acclamation? They all had access to the same information we had.

It's right up there with the people who thought the Corona Virus was a hoax, so went out and partied and now are very, very sorry they are literally dying of it. Well, too fucking bad that you were willfully ignorant. I'm only sorry you get to waste precious medical resources because of your stupidity.

Maybe some kind of TV ad presented as a mock debate between a life-long Republican who recently saw the light, and a lifelong Democrat who has ALWAYS stood on the side of right. Maybe that would be interesting and underscore how completely wrong Republicans and conservatives have been ever since the Great Depression. Probably even longer.
