Encountered my second maskhole today, this time at the grocery store

This maskhole starts SCREAMING, and I do mean all caps SCREAMING that he didn't want to wear a mask and that he didn't have to wear a mask because he had a MEDICAL CAAAAARD.

Oh hell no...this front line lady wasn't having *ANY* of it. "Security" (which was the big stock boys in the back.) Oh no, no one, no body, no THING was messing with the little old lady at the front counting people and masking sure masks were being worn.

This man was not given the chance to put on a mask. He was told to leave and not to come back that day. He wanted a manager.

Manager comes out and says not to come back that day, and if he gave Ms Little Old Lady any more grief, he'd bar him from the store forever.

The whole thing took only like five minutes, but it was really heartening to see that folk around here (I am in a very red section of the blue state of Maryland) care whether or not masks are being worn.

Putin knows how we fall for his crap hook, line and sinker. Europe had advertisement campaigns teaching the public how to spot Russian BS on social media. Too bad our country can't wake up. If wearing a cloth mask compromises your breathing...your breathing will be SEVERELY MORE COMPROMISED if you enter a public place without one and get COVID - not even from the masked people, but from the OTHER dumbfucks who, like you, feel their "freedom" to increase the airborne viral load in an indoor location overrides other people's right to not be infected.

We need to SHARE AND RESPECT public places and everyone else in them. These people are nothing but tantrum-throwing child monsters if they don't understand that.

If you can't breathe while wearing a mask, you have more serious problems and are one of the people who need to practice STRICT social distancing and get groceries delivered or have someone else healthier do the shopping while wearing a mask.

Left MD at age 22 and return every year to visit family and friends. However, the past 3 years I've visited fewer and fewer friends because of their blind devotion to trump. Three of my Republican friends can't stand him and didn't vote at all in '16, don't know yet if they'll vote blue this year. Fortunately my family votes blue, so I'm happy to visit them.

It attracted a lot of very highly educated professionals - doctors, PhDs, researchers.

Good residential community for places like NIH (Bethesda), NIST (Gaithersburg), etc.

My run from my house to the bowels of the Pentagon down I270 had no stop signs, lights, etc. The way back home was also minimal. I'm sure it's very different 20 years later.

I was at a supermarket where masks are mandatory for entry. Some people remove their masks after entering the store, however; I believe workers have been instructed not to tell anyone to put on their masks after they’re already in the store. I was scouring the picked-over shelves for an over-the-counter medication in the pharmacy when a middle-aged white woman, not wearing a mask, came into the aisle and got really close. Her daughter and toddler, both without masks, stayed at the end of the aisle with a shopping cart. She persisted in getting up in my space while I tried to keep distance between us.

She finally called to her daughter, “is there anything else you can think of that we need?”

Impulsively, I replied, “how about face masks?”

As she was inflating her lungs with the air to tell me off, I pulled out my phone, held it up and said, “action! You’re gonna be the next big star on YouTube!” She deflated her sails, turned on her heels, and immediately departed the aisle.

You want to know what is the absolute worst? And it happens every day, sometimes multiple times. The customer comes up to the counter wearing their mask, then pulls it down, and leans into the counter to tell me what they want. You know what I want? For them to put their mask back on! And no, we're not allowed to tell them to wear it properly. This is Indiana, it's a miracle it's mandated at all. The best I can do is look alarmed and lean back. Almost 10% of the time they take the hint.

My county (Lincoln) is one of a handful of WI counties whose Sheriff announced that they would not be enforcing Governor Evers (Dem) mask policy.

Well, I'm glad to report that the stores in my town ALL have notices on the doors that say masks MUST be worn. Most of the eateries too, and also the Library.

It's a big 'go fuck yourself' message to Bunker Boy and the Sheriff.

Mark my words, we'll remember that Sheriff's name on election day, too - that's for sure.

48. I work at a market...I get this EVERY DAY
Tue Aug 11, 2020, 07:33 PM
Aug 2020

I have to remind dozens and dozens every day, most of which simply have forgotten and comply right away, but I get at least two or three people every day who will not comply. The truth is that I have lots of experience in removing troublesome characters from our market and few incidents actually require calling police, but as I maintain a zero tolerance policy it happens once in a while. I have a reputation locally (among the local drunks, drifters, bums, and tweakers) for keeping a Louisville Slugger behind the counter which I will wield if the situation demands.

One I recall claimed to have a medical condition and could not wear a mask. I remarked that if she indeed had a medical condition that prevented her from wearing a mask, why in the world would she venture out into public where she might be exposed to a potentially lethal virus just to buy iced tea and gummie bears? She didn't really have a comeback for that...

I'm sixty, but I'm still a pretty big guy. I had an eighty-year old man come into my store the other day who remarked 'The last time I came in here you were chasing someone out of the store with a baseball bat. I immediately apologized to him and said I was sorry that he had to witness that, but in response he remarked 'No, no...it was very impressive!' Sometimes I even have people clap and cheer when I evict someone particularly troublesome.

This is my life since March.

parking space. She was parked in the space and didn't have a permit OR a mask on. Not only did he have his disability permit, but he also had a vet plate on his car. She was yelling at him that she was handicap (last time I checked entitled bitch wasn't a disability!) and refused to move her car until the store manager came out and told her he would call the police if she didn't move. She had absolutely no shame either. Everyone in the parking lot was staring at her. I wanted to go over and get in her face but I had the kiddo with me and the manager came out fairly quickly.
