Well, besides the fact that they are forever.

Forever Stamps are things you can buy that are guaranteed to increase in value. Buy a sheet and frame it as art because stamps are art.

As an illustrator I appreciate the art and have a set of 20 stamps (34 cents) from American Illustrators. They are my favorites and are hanging up in my room right now...see for yourself.

Isn't the USPS (in a way) shooting themselves in the foot by doing that?

If we can buy stamps now and be able to use them in 5 years, it seems logical that the USPS is losing potential income, no?

NOW rather than to anticipate it later. Prepurchases provide valuable financial liquidity which can be managed to compensate for future costs.

So... just a little backstory about the stamps I choose...some of you know I co-own two small businesses...most of our clients and customers are folks who could be described as right leaning to RWNJ’s. For real. Don’t even get me going on all of that. That said, I pick and choose my postal stamps with care because I use them to pay bills, send correspondence and invoice customers just like everyone but I love to use stamps that have a message...especially to the crazy pants RWNJ’s.
For example, after the MF started calling the coronavirus the Chinese virus, I began using the Chinese Lunar New Year stamps when billing my especially crazy customers...when sending correspondence to my misogynistic customers, I would stick a Bella Abzug stamp on the envelope and laugh laugh laugh. When I’m sending invoices to the he-man tough guy clients, I especially enjoyed using the Mr. Rogers stamps. It’s a small pleasure in my work day and well worth the cost of a forever stamp.

Most of the stamps from WW2 and after are worth only face value for postage. I buy post-WW2 uncancelled in bulk for 60 cents on dollar and use them.

Makes for very colorful envelopes.
