"They've had enough of everything': Record numbers of Americans are giving up their US citizenship

Handling of coronavirus pandemic, Donald Trump, and onerous tax filing requirements cited as reasons

Record numbers of Americans are renouncing their citizenship according to numbers reported by a New York accountancy firm.

Bambridge Accountants reports that 5,816 people gave up US citizenship in the first half of 2020 — a 1,210 per cent increase on the previous six months in which only 444 cases were recorded.

The first two quarters of 2020 also rank as having the first and second highest numbers on record at 2,909 and 2,907 respectively.

But we are applying for residency in another American country. US continually forgets that they aren’t the only Americans.

our Democratic Republic was handed over to Vlad & his International Criminal Organization in such a ghastly encouraging way, by so many self serving American citizens.

Family talked me out of it, & we all regret that final decision to this day.

Being welcomed in another country, at that time was far easier & more acceptable than it is now.

even before the virus you had to have a pile of money.. Panama looked interesting.. They use the dollar, most places speak english and relatively close to the US if you really need to get back quickly... Now? I guess all bets are off..
